What does freedom mean to you?
This month on the podcast, our theme is Freedom. Now, the United States of America purports to be a country founded on this ideal. But what I’ve come to realize is that in practice, the brand of freedom we tout here in the USA is “I do what I want.” This is not a freedom that uplifts others.
It's time to step out of the zero-sum game we've agreed to and build a reality around true freedom that elevates the collective. As Nelson Mandela said: “For to be free is not merely to cast off one's chains, but to live in a way that respects and enhances the freedom of others.”
